The mmwave needs more power than the regular blue dimmer. We’ve seen people in the forum struggling with smart bulb mode in non-neutral with a single bypass. Some people have found it works with 2-3 bypasses or by rewiring at the light to send a neutral and a hot down to the switch. In this case the bulbs will always be powered.
Fascinating I had considered rewiring at the light I’ll have to pop it open and see if I have that kind of access in the at the first light in the chain There’s only two I usually wire my ceiling lights hot for Phillips Hue anyway no reason to ever have them powered down ever lol
So what you’re saying is the switch should not be able to power on at all without a neutral even if it’s just two LED lights in the chain ? I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t supposed to be doing some button combination during power up to get it to go into no neutral mode or something like that I read the man here but I didn’t see anything like that
Yeah the problem with non neutral is that the switch has to leak current through the light to get enough power to run itself. With smart bulbs, when they’re off there’s not enough power without bypasses for the switch to boot up in a stable configuration. With the mmwave drawing extra power to run the radar, we’ve seen people with switches power cycling and not booting up properly.
