Sorry for the delay on the update – just getting back into the forums.
So we’ve run into a bit of an issue with the first supplier in that I don’t think we’ll be able to pull this off due to the MOQ (minimum order qty) the manufacturer is requesting. Not only that, but it’s much more complex with the various distributors that require high margins.
That said, I have a quote coming from our current manufacturer that has a much lower MOQ since they’ve worked with us for a few years and we have a ton of business with them. The quote should be here today or tomorrow at the latest.

Here’s where I need your help. For pre-orders, I’m thinking about just saving us some time and opening it up on our US site, but I don’t know how that all works with EU consumer laws and such.
My question for you all is (and this may be a really dumb one, so I apologize), but do you ever order directly from a US site?
We wouldn’t be shipping from the US as we’ll have a distributor in the EU, so I don’t think we’ll be collecting any taxes or anything, but I have to still look into this.

I actually feel much better working with our current manufacturer as it will save us time since they’re just going to use the same firmware we currently have (instead of having to build it from the source code we have which is a few firmware versions behind).
The reason I went to a new manufacturer initially was because the distributor had connections with them and our current manufacturer also has about 6 projects ahead of this one. However, they have assured me that since they’d just be creating hardware, it wouldn’t take that long and they could fit it in.
