I’ve been in home automation before it was a “thing” back in the very early X10 days (even still have a few), then on to Insteon, then to Z-Wave, then to Zigbee and WiFi. Insteon is phasing out as I replace dead devices with Z-Wave or Zigbee (primarily Z-Wave right now) and a speckling of Wifi. Using HomeAssistant as my primary setup after going through a dozen others and being a major contributor to several, primarily Indigo.
