Former USAF electrical engineer - but worked either at 5/12V breadboard stuff or 35-50kw S/X band radar ends of the spectrum (my 1st RF Pun!) … So this 120V home wiring stuff is slightly out of my confort zone!
Reformed Insteon enthusiast for the last 12 years or so… Switches, motion detectors, and cameras. Got out just in time. My last holdout is my holiday outdoor plug and I have 8 more months to figure out a plan to replace that!
Running Home Assistant for about a year or 18 months… Nothing too complicated but I’m working on it.
Zigbee sensor and plug convert… but Blue 2-1 will be my first non-Insteon switches…)
Most looking forward to automating shutting off lights in my kids BRs and Baths using Blue + aquara motion / presence sensors. Even at LED consumption rates, the power savings may pay for the switches in a year or two.
Glad to be part of the community.
