3 Way Wiring with no neutral advice

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help me verify the wiring I have installed on my switches and ensure I’m not just taking some crazy pills.

It is a 3 way switch, with switch 1 having red wire, white wire, black wire attached to switch, and a white wire and black wire connected together with a wire nut. Picture below.

Switch 2 has: 1 red wire, 1 black wire and 1 white wire attached to the switch thats it.

Judging by the fact that the white and black wires in switch 1 are connected together, am I right in assuming there is no neutral wire? Also when I use a multi-meter the white wire in switch 1 seems to be my line and the black wire my load. I’m in Canada, but does this seem right?

Thanks for any help.

Correct. Line drops to switch 1, but is transferred immediately to switch 2 via the BLK. So you’ll need to put the Dimmer in with an aux switch.

I was afraid of that…ok thanks for the help.

I’ll look at getting an aux switch.
