Blue Dimmer Switch as Scene Controller (single pole, no-neutral)

For lack of a neutral in my switch box, would I be able to wire the line and loads together to give power to a blue series 2-1 switch so that I can use it as a scene controller rather than controlling the fixture itself? The fixture is a ceiling fan/ligh combo that I already am able to control perfectly with a fan-module.

Right now the line and load are just tied together and covered by a wall plate.

Please advise. Thank you so much!

No, a neutral is required to use the Blue as a scene controller like this (same is true for any other brand of smart switch).

Bummer, appreciate the response though. Next time I talk to my electrician friend I’ll ask about rewiring the box to put in a neutral. Thanks again.

It sounds as if you have a 2-wire between the switch box and the fan box. You have the two conductors tied together, essentially doing away with the switch loop.

This means that you have a constant hot and neutral at the fan box. Rewire at the fan box to connect the incoming 2-wire from the switch box to the constant hot and neutral. This will send a hot and neutral to your switch box and allow you to install an Inovelli to use as a scene controller.
