Blue Fan/Light Controller Two Issues/Questions

I recently purchased and installed blue series dimmers for my entire house. Most work flawlessly, but I’m having a couple issues in the bathroom.

Original wiring had lights and exhaust fan on the same switch with no neutral in the wall box, so I rewired it to put a Blue Fan/Light module behind the light fixture controlling the lights and fan and a constant live/neutral to the switch (no return switched power for the loads). This is North American wiring in a fairly old house.

The first issue is with the lights: When turning on, they fade from off to full brightness and just before reaching max, they flicker once (not a subtle dimming, fully off and back on probably around 100-200ms). If the lights were just turned off and then back on, it usually doesn’t happen, but sometimes does. It always happens if the lights have been off for a few minutes. Other than that, they’re fine, brightness control and stability I have no complaints.

Secondly with the fan, I have the switch config button bound to the fan control, which is fine. The controller is in exhaust fan mode and so should only have on and off, but the Home Assistant control still shows High/Medium/Low/Off controls. The switch also treats it as a multi speed. If I use cycle control, I have to press the config button 4 times to get the fan to turn off when it feels like it should be 1 press on / 1 press off. In multi-tap, press and hold turns it off but pressing a few times still sends H/M/L commands to the controller which then keeps the fan on full at any of those settings. (The docs say that the controller should ship in exhaust fan mode for safety but it was in multi-speed mode and I had to change it myself, which was weird.)
