Blue Non-neutral + Smart Bulb not working, even with bypass

Hi.
Here’s my setup:
Innovelli Blue Dimmer, Connected in a non-neutral 2-wire setup, which is then connected to a circuit which goes to my central light which has 3 Phillips Hue 800 lumen lights on the circuit.

Switch is set to smart bulb mode.

The issue: Whenever I turn off the hue lights via the hue app, the switch starts fashing a turquoise light and won’t work again until I reset the switch (via the bottom left pull tab).

This seems to only happen when the light directly on the switch is turned on. Seems like the switch isn’t getting enough power.

I tried the aotec bypass, and wired it to the ceiling lamp that’s connected to the same circuit as shown:

So the bypass is connected to the two wires that the light fixture also connect to.
Seems like this should work, but it appears to have no affect.
Wondering what I may be doing wrong.

This is not an uncommon problem with non-neutral configurations and smart bulbs. Adding the bypass was the correct first step.

When you installed the switch, did you test to identify which of the two conductors was the constant hot and connect that conductor to the line terminal?

If that is in order, you may need to add one or more additional bypasses. No guarantee that this will work but it has for some other users.

One thing that you can do to test your installation is to temporarily swap the bulbs out for non-smart bulbs, particularly ones that will draw a decent amount of current. Incandescents if you have them, or CFLs. Or high wattage LEDs as a last resort.
