Blue Series Fan + Light Module Changelog | VZM36

September 1, 2025 / v1.02 / 20250901 / 0x1100102 / 67174658 / Production

  • The dimming algorithm has been optimized.
    • If issues are observed in leading edge mode, please try trailing edge or full sine mode.

March 11, 2024 / v1.01 / 20240311 / 0x1100101 / 67174657 / Production

  • Changed the behavior of the Keep Alive Cluster:
    • Stops the keep alive cluster when the hub does not support it (Hubitat bug fix).

Did 1.02 move to production this week? Just got the update notice in Z2M and I don’t think I’m subscribed to the beta channel currently.

Yes.

I had inquired about testing the beta and was told by @EricM_Inovelli that 1.02 was being made available…

The update includes the dimming algorithm changes that have been made to our other products.

While I know this next question doesn’t really have to do with the firmware for the canopy module, but since the statement was made, I thought I’d ask…

Are these changes also in the current 3.04 firmware for the VZM31-SN Dimmers? Or will I need to wait until 3.06 becomes available for download? Because I am experiencing similar dimming issues on my VZM31 feeding the same type of bulbs as my canopy module.

Gonna give my canopy module a couple more days before I declare it fixed with the new firmware, but looking good so far.

Yes. 3.x for the VZM31 include the same dimming algorithm changes that were made here.

Could we also include the same parameter, just like VZM31, for users to pick new vs legacy dimming algorithm?

I changed the firmware to 1.02, thinking the new algorithm would yield better results, but no, the new algorithm introduces new flickering behaviors differently on either leading or trailing edge… whereas the legacy algorithm would still give me OK-ish results under trailing edge.

But sounds like we cannot roll back to v1.01 once we are on v1.02.
