Canadian Customs and Duties

So this is based on some quick research, but might be missing some things. @Courtney_Inovelli

So as far as i can tell we are only responsible for GST/HST/PST and Handler fees. Anyone else can add any experience?

So here is an update from my initial experiment:

From Inovelli’s Website I purchased:
20x Bulbs
20x Black On/Off switches

Total at the time came out to $1173.31 CAD
Canada Post informed me I owed duties of $42.01
This brings the percentage to 3.5%
(Note: this is for a shipment to Alberta, we have only GST)
Having it be lower than the expected 5% is most likely due to Inovelli reporting wholesale price vs retail price for declaration

Transit time worked out to 24 days, so that is one advantage Aartech has.

Let me know if anyone else has similar experiences!

We can’t help you with the bulbs as they aren’t currently available (see other threads). But we’ve updated our pricing on 10 packs to be very close after exchange to Inovelli’s direct pricing even though we’re having to do it with singles at a higher cost. We ship free over $100 (Canadian). We’ll also help you on this side of the border should you need warranty/doa support. Hopefully not!

We will definitely be faster, that’s for sure!

Take care,
Robert
