you bind EP2 from the source switch to EP1 of the destination switch for both ends of the 3-way (EP 2 of Switch A to EP1 of Switch B, and EP2 of Switch B to EP1 of Switch A), you should get 2 x blue working in a 3-way where they match each other in level and on/off control.
Yep, I could
swear that EricM posted this once a while ago as the way to bind 2 Blues together… I just remember thinking “OK, that’s what I’ll try then” when I was planning out some setups before my Blues arrived, but I ended up not doing any bindings (so I can’t speak to first-hand success).
Later this week I’ll be attempting this as well which will be be a first for me with binding any zigbee devices. Where in HA do I go to bind EP1 and EP2?
FWIW, here’s a link to what I did to bind 2 switches in ZHA:
At least for ZHA, the switch to switch How-to instructions are just a copy of binding a switch to a bulb, so they’re somewhat less than ideal. Plus HA has changed the UI a bit. I assume the instructions are just unfinished. (
@Eric_Inovelli: Any ETA on having instructions?)
FWIW, Here’s what I did in ZHA:
On the device page for the switch, click the three dots in the Device Info section, and choose Manage Zigbee Device.
Select the Bindings tab.
Choose the other switch under Bindable Devices …
