Just received my first Inovelli product, a White Series Dimmer that I bought to test in my home setup. After a quick hiccup caused by a low-wattage LED bulb in a non-neutral setup (the LED Bar went on a rave) fixed by popping a 60w incandescent in the fixture until I get a bypass, the dimmer is working perfectly. I added it to Apple Home, then added it to Home Assistant for configuration goodness. (TBH, the only reason I originally set up HA was to get my Trane thermostat bridged to Apple Home, but I really like the additional flexibility HA offers.) Then I played around with setting it up, including the local config options not exposed in HA.
The experience has been great, and I love that I can nerd out a little with all the configuration options, and still have a simple, functional switch that my roommate won’t freak out about. I plan on setting up some automations such as when I go to bed and the front door is unlocked, the LED bar will go red or something (the roommate is a night owl that sometimes walks his dog as I’m going to bed, so I don’t want to accidentally lock him out by automating the door lock itself).
So, I’ll be ordering more Inovelli products to outfit the rest of my condo, including removing the single Lutron Caseta dimmer that I got a while back, but never expanded on because the dimmers are more expensive, require Yet Another Hub, and it’s not Matter. Inovelli gives me the better functionality for a better price.
