Non-smart light on then off immediately when automation is set

Hey guys,

I have a Blue Series dimmer switch connected to a dumb light and set up a very simple automation to have both up and down presses toggle the light but it seems like the original logic is still there so both sets of instructions are overriding each other.

Is there a way to fix this so that the automation is in total control?

I’m using firmware 0x01020208 in Home Assistant w/ ZHA (tried w/ Z2M as well w/ the same results).

Local protection will lock the physical switch either on or off, then your switch becomes a scene controller which will trigger just your automations.
