Greetings Inovelli Lounge,
I am in search for something that I am beginning to suspect does not exist. (Perhaps Inovelli one day will make this product should it truly not exist hint hint to the team!) I like to use table and floor lamps in the more cozy rooms in my home. Frequently these lamps are positioned in spaces around some family members (and guests of course) who are not as comfortable with smart home ways of living. I have tried smart bulbs and plug-in dimmers with a well positioned multi-button remote. But those fail to gain acceptance in almost all cases and are prone to getting lost. I recently tried the TP-Link Tapo P135.
These have a unique additional rotary encoder control that can be located just about anywhere near the dimmer. It also frees me to choose whichever bulbs I prefer for that particular lamp. However in my testing of these, WiFi-based matter makes for a poor experience compared with Zigbee and the dimming performance itself, being that it is stuck operating only on leading-edge phase control, is sometimes awful with many of the best LED bulbs. My go-to standard at home right now are the Philips “Ultra-Definition” series of bulbs along with Emery-Allen when I need a specialty shape. Neither of these performed well in my tests whereas on an Inovelli Blue series, the performance is just perfect and easily adjustable.
What I want is a plug-in lamp dimmer, with Blue series performance, customization, etc, but with a friendly and responsive remote control that increases the guest acceptance factor (and SAF I suppose) by 10× or more.
Suggestions for a solution here? Perhaps there is a product or combination of products that others use in these situations? Or perhaps there is some solution that I have overlooked.
