It will be 1.1.5.

Awesome! Looking forward to it!

I’m curious about the link posted above getting the version number correct as 1.1.5 but having the Specification Version at 1.1 does that mean you ran into problems going to Matter 1.4 and had to rollback or is that a typo or mistake on that site?

Regardless of the answer, I am thankful you engage as much as you do with your customers. It really is unheard of and I am optimistic and excited for this release.

This is just a recording issue. The firmware is 1.4.

@EricM_Inovelli

I assume you mean that firmware version 1.1.5 for the VTM31 is built against version 1.4 of the matter SDK?

@EricM_Inovelli Thanks for the confirmation!

I just enabled the test net, and installed the switched updated to 1.1.1 without issue.

However, I am now unable to change settings from Home Assitant. Trying to change the ā€œDimming Speedā€ (or really, any configuration value) returns an error:

Failed to perform the action select/select_option. Unsupported cluster (code 195)

I did re-interview the device. Here is the list of endpoints visible in the matter UI:

Each of these has quite a few clusters, I’m not sure which one corresponds to the configuration actions.

It’s a bit problematic since the switch was in smart bulb mode, but after the update it’s behaving as if smart bulb mode was disabled (but it reports smart bulb mode as enabled), and trying to turn smart bulb off/on from Home Assistant returns the error above.

From what I understand the 1.1.1 ā€œbetaā€ is already outdated, is it possible to try the latest version?

EDIT: rebooting Home Assistant did not help (there was no ā€œNot providedā€ entity to clear), but resetting to factory and re-pairing did the trick.

As @EricM_Inovelli stated earlier in this thread, the latest release target 1.1.5 is expected to reach general availability this week. Why not just wait until the release version is available at this point?

Release version 1.1.5 is due out this week.

You might want to read this post from @EricM_Inovelli . If you are upgrading from 1.0.5 to 1.1.1 or later. You will need to restart HA and then remove the ā€œdead clustersā€ that are no longer in use. Once that is done you should be able to re-configure the switch to meet your application.

I did not have any issues with using 1.1.1 as a dimmer.

Well now I’m just confused, the new version is supposed to be 1.1.5? HA is now showing me 1.1.3.

That is still the beta version. It looks like you have ā€œtest-net-dclā€ enabled which I thought was disabled by default but maybe not.

Yeah, I figured it was a beta but when I saw it I came to this thread looking for the changelog and didn’t see one like the other betas, just saw people talking about 1.1.5 (don’t see the changelog for that either?) and no mention of 1.1.3. I probably checked the enable test-net option when I set up the matter server, I don’t remember doing that but it’s the sort of thing I might do.

I see that it updated some of the option names/choices to make them clearer which is nice. I also see there is an ā€œAudible Clickā€ option, but it doesn’t seem to do anything (tested with switch set to on/of or to dimmer).

It is disabled by default in HA.

1.1.5 is still pending release by Inovelli.

Sorry, it was only meant to be released to internal beta testers at the moment. I will update the changelog with what is new. The relay click option doesn’t work if you have a 3-way with a dumb switch. I think that is the only scenario though.

I have a 3-way with an Aux switch. I tried setting it to single-pole and that didn’t work. This is a non-neutral setup if that matters.

Try cycling the ā€œAudible Clickā€ setting in HA off and on. and see if that resolves it. Give it about 10 secs after each change.

I checked with the engineer and that setting only works in on/off mode or in dimmer mode with 3-way dumb switch enabled. I thought you could enable the click in other modes, but he assures me it has always been like that.

I recently started on a major change of my home’s automation by removing all the Zigbee ( non Philips / Signify Hue ) lights and devices, along with zWave and have been transitioning to using the Inovelli White series to get every thing in my home to be accessible via Apple Home. This has been highly successful and necessary to get the system to the point that when I am no longer around that my wife doesn’t have to rely on things like Conbee or Zigbee2MQTT bridges and the like running on various platforms like Raspberry Pi’s or zWave systems like HomeSeer and Hubitat. Thus I don’t want to introduce things like Home Assistant to the mix. When this new firmware is released into production will my system see the White series dimmer switches ( and when new firmware is available for the On Off White series as well ) get the new firmware? I have automatic update set in the Home Settings. Will the Inovelli switches receive the new firmware when it’s released? Am I correct that I cannot get the beta versions of firmware without the use of something like Home Assistant?

My goal is to keep the system as simplified as possible without relying on other third party platforms. I need something that my wife will be able to deal with when I’m no longer able to maintain the system. I’m concerned about the firmware updates as I can see some minor issues that I believe they would resolve for us. When do you expect the new firmware to be rolled out for non beta systems?

@EricM_Inovelli - If you’re still taking Beta Testers I’m interested! I’d like to get the Energy stuff working in my HA dashboard. I’m tired of look at ā€œall up statsā€. I’d love to see individual breakouts in HA’s new energy dashboard. I pretty much have my whole house wired with these.
