White Series Smart Dimmer - Voltage detected on paddle

Hey all,

I installed a white series dimmer (Inovelli White Series 2-1 Smart Switch • Works With HomeKit • Matter) recently and while the switch seems to work fine and everything, I noticed while poking my non-contact voltage detector around that’s it’s detecting high voltage on the middle of the paddle. I have both blue and red series switches in other rooms and nothing happens when the detector is pressed anywhere on those. Is this just due to this particular switch and it’s detecting the current running through the inside(IE not on the paddle itself)? I’m somewhat afraid to touch it in the meantime lol.

Those detectors can pick up voltage within a centimetre or two, I wouldn’t worry about it, just some wire carrying current near that area.

Agree. They’re good for quick checks, but I wouldn’t trust it for true voltage checks.
