Yes, that post was actually a veiled question since Kaleb’s last comment on this was that they were still on track for the mass production first week September timeline…
I have not received emails either.
Week 2 of September coming to a close @Eric_Inovelli @EricM_Inovelli @Kaleb_Inovelli Can we please get an update today on the status of production? When asked on the Thursday of Week 1 you doubled down that it would still be in starting in week 1 and have not updated anything to say that it is or isn’t in production. I really do love you guys and this company but this lack of communication is driving me insane when all you need to say is “No unfortunately production got pushed back and is now POSSIBLY happening on such and such date” or “Yes we are in production and will update the website to reflect that status change”
Have a great Friday looking forward to a response.
Quick update that I just left on Indiegogo:
Hey all,
Giving a quick status update. We have all the parts at the production facility and they are in the process of production. The last pieces they’re waiting on is the mmWave sensors that needed a couple extra weeks of lead time due to the extra component that needed to be added on to the back.
Full production is slated for September 28th. Here is the official note from the manufacturer:
“The mmwave manufacturer told us that due to the special material of 60G RF PCB, the delivery time of the module needs to be delayed to September 28. Therefore, we will not be able to continue mass production until September 28th.”
The next update will happen when we confirm production has updated.
Thanks,
Eric
I will put it in my calendar for myself or Kaleb to give on update on Sept 28 one way or another.
Appreciate the update!
Thanks - I really appreciate the update and putting the calendar reminder in for the next update. Really looking forward to getting these in my house.
Is this switch still going to support ‘dumb’ aux switches as originally planned?
It does not support dumb switches. If I remember the reasoning, there was not room on the circuit board to fit the relay that is needed for dumb switches.
Wait, what? I missed that.
Are we talking “dumb” as in a generic paddle from Home Depot, or dumb as in the Inovelli AUX switch? The former is fine, but if the AUX switch does not work with these then I will need to cancel the order I made two years ago.
I have lots of n-way configurations, all of which have neutral wires. I could see this switch requiring the neutral, but I never saw anything indicating that it would not work with the Aux.
The dumb switch is the traditional / generic paddle switch. The Aux switch (made by Inovelli/Jasco/etc) is supported. Only compatibility with dumb switches had to be dropped.
Okay. rvisconti asked about
‘dumb’ aux switches
So your repsonse had me worried.
I assumed that @jrvisconti was referring to purely dumb switches and not aux switches, but I agree the terminology in the question was confusing and I should have added my clarification in my original comment.
Thanks for asking explicitly about the aux switch and making me clarify my comment!
Sorry if this was mentioned before, but that’s disappointing to hear.
I’m running into space issues in some locations, and the GE/Inovelli Aux switch has too large of a footprint.
Maybe a smaller Aux could be looked into.
Not sure if it meets your needs, but I ran into some issues with space and wound up replacing the boxes with larger volume old work boxes. The originals were new work (i.e. nailed to the stud), but I was able to cut them off with a reciprocating saw without really damaging the drywall (very slowly and carefully ). There were a couple places that had studs for perpendicular walls which prevented installing deeper boxes, but I was about to use something like https://www.homedepot.com/p/Carlon-1-Gang-17-cu-in-Electrical-PVC-Shallow-Old-Work-Electrical-Switch-and-Outlet-Box-B117RSWR-B117RSWR/202077341?g_store=6679&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US in those situations.
Once again, I don’t know if what I experienced has any relevance to you, but perhaps it helps.
Thanks for that.
Last time I asked a so-called “electrician” to replace an old gangbox, he did this:
So yeah, I make sure to specify “non-destructively” from now on.
