I don’t think @Eric_Inovelli opened pre-orders yet.
Typically preorder is opened near end of beta when production is ready to begin.
The problem is that doesn’t work. The base humidity changes day to day and season to season. A method to detect the sudden rising humidity is needed.
I’d do that with a rule that calculates the average humidity over the last x days, set that value as a variable, and then use the variable as the threshold.
Did the pre-order just drop for this?
Yes, I just sent an email out – of course, the first time I tried out a new program I screwed up the URL for the mobile button
so I had to send it twice.
Nice! Do you know if it will be available on pre-order on Aartech’s site soon for a Canadian delivery?
Thank you @Eric_Inovelli! Is there another SmartThings edge driver we should set up on our hubs?
I have a question about when payment is processed that doesn’t seem to be answered on the web site, and the answers I’m seeing from forum searches are inconsistent. If I do a pre-order now, will I be charged now or when the devices ship. We’re moving into a new house in March, so I’d like to have the new switches as soon as I can manage, but I’m moving into a new house, so I have to make choices about some things based on when the money is going to flow out of my account. ![]()
Thanks.
It’s charged instantly (I bought a 10 pack when pre-orders opened and I see it on my credit card statement).
Hey all, just pinging here to see if there were any updates on shipping for these Zigbee On/Off switches. Any progress here? Still on track for a March ship date?
Every product has a roadmap on the product page. Check there in the future if you haven’t seen any updates from the actual team.
The text in the screenshot that you shared mentions Phase 5 is “expected to be complete by early February”. It is now mid-February, hence the request for an update…
Yeah if you’d use the resources provided you’d visit the page scroll to the bottom and sign up for the email updates for when they’re ready to share updates.
Have some patience, just because it isn’t exact doesn’t mean that they’re far off. If nothing by end of march then you should be looking for updates.
Manufacturing, production, and shipping all take time and have delays. Especially with looming tariff talks I’m sure they have to get some logistics figured out.
Bro, chill, no need for the snark. Everyone knows the team at Inovelli is working hard, and everyone knows there’s a multitude of things which can cause timelines to slip. People can have patience while still being excited for something and wanting to know how things are progressing.
@Eric_Inovelli, two questions here:
- Any chance of an update on these switches? They’ve been in Phase 5 for over 2 months, and it seems like even if they were approved tomorrow, we’d still be over a month before they shipped to customers.
- I saw Inovelli’s tariff statement on your homepage. It’s really unfortunate that the company is being negatively impacted at the moment and that prices have to go up. I saw for preorders, Inovelli will absorb increased costs without passing them onto users. Has the company considered instituting a “tariff support product” or something akin to a donate button? My order included a $33 discount for preorder pricing that I’d happily donate back if it meant the company was in much better shape. If there was an option to donate even more, I’d consider it. Has that been something the team has considered as a way to help offset costs?
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
On the topic of trade wars: tariffs aside, are their any new concerns regarding the final development, manufacture, and distribution of these switches? At least, is Inovelli still in discussion with the vendor and are they still committed to carrying the project through to completion? This question applies to the mmWave switch as well considering it is similarly mature.
Thank you!
@angryllama I am not Eric, but the switches are in certification and that normally takes eight’ish weeks. The certification of the firmware is needed for the manufacturer to go into the production phase. This is where both projects are at currently. We are hoping for movement but when things are submitted they go into a que and they work it when our que is up.
Thanks, but my question was more nuanced than that. Rather than what would happen normally, or even timetables. I’m wondering if the relationship with the vendor is still healthy despite the political tension between the two countries.
Yes, the relationship with our manufacturer is still strong! They are committed to working with us no matter what difficulties arise.
These are scheduled to finish production on 5/19 and ship within a day or so after that. So they should be arriving to the US by mid-June!
