3 years in - still can't effectively dim my lights

I hate that it feels like I only come here to complain, but I’m legitimately sitting here with a bunch of Lutron Caseta Diva switches in my Amazon cart and before I decide to rip and replace all of my blue dimmer switches, I wanted to come here one more time seeking solutions.

I want to love these blue switches, even though I’m mad that the thread/matter standard and white version, came out not too long after I bought 30 blues. But I just can’t. I can’t get over how difficult it is to do something as simple as dim a light from the paddle.

I sit here, holding down the paddle to dim, and find myself constantly fighting my light switches. I hold the paddle too long? Too dim. Try to hold it again to brighten a bit? Too bright. Something as simple as dimming shouldn’t cause so much frustration and inconsistency. My wife is regularly talking shit about my switches and says she liked the previous Kasa ones better.

I wish these switches had a dedicated dimmer paddle/slider/something, totally independent from the on/off paddle. I can’t be the only one that feels this way?? Almost every single time I try to dim a light from the switch, it doesn’t go well.

Are there any settings I can change that would make the paddle function as a “staged” dimmer, similar to other smart switches where you can press + and - buttons to increase and decrease dimming levels? Basically WITHOUT home automation logic, can I use the paddle to “step up” and “step down” brightness on each tap, and use long press down for off?

Thanks in advance for any feedback

What do you have DimmingSpeedUpLocal and DimmingSpeedDownLocal set to? Mine are at 25 (2.5 seconds from 100 - 0 and vice versa) and I’ve never had issues controlling the brightness. Just increase these values until you find a speed you’re comfortable with.
