72 HR FLASH Sale! EXTENDED TO FRIDAY!

Cool thx for following up, still no red showing as I check this morning. Just off to work will check again after work and see if they have sorted it out.

Yeah no worries – I’m constantly waiting as well to see their response. This happened once last year and it took like 4 days to sort it out

Let’s hope it will be sorted out soon!

I was holding myself to buy more switch because it is really not needed in our budget but those poped out in my sight and couldn’t hold it anymore at that price. I’m excited to see the dimmer as well.

I have few GE and I went full Homeseer after that but their issue with switch really annoyed me. I also bought 1 switch and 1 dimmer at home depot last year from leviton but did not install the dimmer yet.

I have few place in the house that are not zwave switch so yours came at a nice time frame. I was considering the leviton again but did not like their price for their bang.

Still excited!

Me too! Here’s the thread so far. I’ve also called and got the runaround.

Ok thanks – we’re having a sale right now that leads directly to Amazon.ca and so by not having this available, it’s making customers upset. So, any urgency would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Eric

If anyone works for Amazon, I’d love some help :joy:!! The seller side of things is not at all the same as the buyer side in terms of customer support. This is pretty much par for the course of my interactions.

I see them available on Amazon.com but not on amazon.ca. I don’t know if how it works on a seller side but maybe you should adress this’ll issue to the Canadian help support instead?

But obviously the customers support looks way better than seller support hahahaha.

Thanks again for all the support from your side. I never saw that much interaction from a seller. Tumbs up to you!

On a totally different subject… What will be the price tag for the dimmer vs the on/off switch?

Hopefully the red units cine back online in Canada soon!

Hopefully a quick question - I just found out about these switches from RedFlagDeals, and they seem revolutionary (I have legacy GE Tapt, Wemo, Wink relays, etc., all with issues).

I just want to clarify the difference between the black and red line - is that the difference between base and advanced? I was trying to match them up on your In-Wall Dimmer page, but didn’t see the red/black details. The Amazon Canada also lists the Black version of the on/off as having the LED control and energy monitoring, so I just want to be sure.

Great devices!

Hey @Absolute and @KibblesAndBits,

Great to hear from you both and welcome to the community!

Yeah, it seems Amazon.ca is quite the cluster right now and I’ve about had it with them :joy:

Not only did they take down the Red Series listing, but it appears they used the product description from the Red Series (thanks for pointing this out @Absolute). It’s supposed to pull directly from Amazon USA, but idk what’s going on… Ugh (sorry, venting)!

Anyway, the main differences are that the Red Series has everything the Black Series has plus:

  • Energy/Power Monitoring
  • Notifications
  • Scene Control
  • Smart Bulb Enabled

Sorry for the mobile screenshot (not by a computer).

Hope this helps and stay tuned!

Can you elaborate on what “Smart Bulb Enabled” means as well as “Heads up Notification”? Those are two new terms i havent heard of with my current zwave switches.

Also for clarification, red switches are dimmable correct?

Im holding out on Amazon.ca getting their stuff fixed so i can order some Red switches none the less

Haha, yeah sure - I wanted to use some fancy terms to make me feel better about my marketing degree

Smart Bulb Enabled means that you can use this switch with smart bulbs on the load. For example, one of the problems with smart bulbs is that if you cut the power to them, they go offline (as there’s nothing to power the Z-Wave Chip). We put in the ability to disable the internal relay so that when you try to turn it off via cutting power, it will not work. Instead, what happens is when you press down, the switch sends a signal to the HUB to turn off the bulb. In other words, the bulb is still powered but it’s controlled still by the HUB (and also the switch).

Hopefully that makes sense?

As for Heads Up Notifications, there’s a small LED bar on the On/Off switches that is RGB (multi-color) that can light up different colors (and animations) to notify you of certain events. For example, if your garage door was left open past 10pm, your switch could light up purple. Or if your basement light was left on, your switch could flash green.

It’s pretty sweet!

Sorry for the confusion. There are two different lines we have: Red and Black Series.

Think of the Black Series is a more basic switch. Not every switch you have needs to have all the fancy bells and whistles so we wanted to make one that was more affordable.

The Red Series has all the features you could think of. It’s more of our premium version. The one you want to show off to your friends lol

There are also two different types of switches: On/Off and Dimmer. The one for sale now is the On/Off versions. Our Dimmers are in production and should be shipping soon.

So, to recap, there are four different switches we’ll have available soon (two are currently available):

  • Black Series On/Off (Available Now)
  • Red Series On/Off (Available Now)
  • Black Series Dimmer (In Production)
  • Red Series Dimmer (In Production)

Hopefully that helps a bit?

If Amazon Canada doesn’t get it together with the Red fiasco before the sale ends will Canada get another shot at the deal on them when they do get it sorted out?

Yes, we for sure will run a two day sale exclusively for Canada. I 100% promise you!

Thanks @Eric_Inovelli; that’s what I had thought too, and didn’t want to order the wrong version! The power monitoring is a unique feature that I’m excited about (and the LED signalling too) - no other product has your unique features. I’ll happily wait for the Canadian sale (and pick up a few from Amazon.com on a US trip next week…)!

Regarding the Smart Bulb Enabled question, another term I heard in reference to it was “live wiring”, which was what I had to do for my old switches. Essentially, in other switches, you cap off the “load” wire on the switch so it powers nothing, and then wire the live and load from the wall together, so the lights are always powered.

Not a good solution, as the sockets will always be powered unless you hit the breaker, or take out a bulb. Given some bulbs disconnect from hubs (looking at you, EcoSmart…) it means that you may have to manually reset each bulb one-by-one. Very. Annoying.

This feature means you can wire the switch properly, and then choose the type of bulb… plus, it looks like the “air gap” switch will allow you to cut the power to the smart bulb… so if you need to reset/repair all your lights… you can do the on/off reset process right at the switch.

@Eric_Inovelli any news from Amazon.ca?

I know it was a long weekend but just wondering

Thanks!

Can’t wait for the next sale after finally having time to get 4 of my 5 switches installed and seeing how quickly these update their status with Hubitat.

I was wondering the same. Doesn’t look .ca is getting the love this round!

I’m trying, I promise!

I just called USA support bc Canada does not provide any phone number and they basically said that they’ve submitted it to, “their internal team” and should have some sort of answer for us within 24-48hrs.

It sucks because there’s no, “internal team” contact to reachout to, so I’m at the mercy of the customer service rep (I’m also using that term lightly) to get things done.

So, still waiting… :frowning:

I am waiting for the next flash sale. Very happy with my previous order…

I hope they don’t have too much of those sale… My wallet won’t handle too much of them in a short period of time :joy:

I’m even considering replacing some switch I currently have upgraded already. Only because of this damn rgb notification light. You hooked me hard. I love rgb light.
