A “bypass” is often needed if not outright required for Inovelli Switches wired in non-neutral setups.
Unfortunately, I am unable to find the Aeotec Bypass sold for a reasonable price anywhere in Canada.
- Aeotec’s site points me toward two sites (AARTech and ShopHomeTechSolution), nether of which carries the Aeotec Bypass.
- Amazon lists the product for $70
- Inovelli has a base shipping cost of $80
What I would like to know is :
- What does the Aeotec Bypass do exactly?
- Is there any reason it cannot be replaced with another manufacturers Bypass product?
- Are there any key words or specs to look out for when comparing said Bypass products?
While trying to research this myself I’ve came across the following Bypass products:
- Jasco Direct-Wire LED Lighting Bypass (52327)
- Fibaro Bypass 2 (FGB-002)
- Shelly Bypass
- Vesternet LED Bypass
- LUT-MLC
Locally the LUT-MLC seems to available, and at a reasonable price too! (x5 = $55-85 inc. shipping and taxes).
EDIT:
The Aeotec Bypass has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
I contacted AARTech and asking if they will relist the Aeotec Bypass in the future, they responded:
Hello,
Unfortunately, we won’t be carrying the Aeotec Bypass units going forward, as our supplier has discontinued the product. There may still be limited stock available through other online retailers, including Inovelli, but once existing inventory is sold, it may no longer be available.
Thanks!

Checking the manufacturers (Aeotec) website, the Aeotec Bypass has both its Spec Sheet and Manual listed under Discontinued Products.
