Just purchased my first Inovelli Blue Series Dimmer switches, with an AUX switch. The Dimmer switches are working perfectly….I just can’t get the one AUX switch in a 3 Way to do anything.
The Dimmer/Aux are neutral installs, the dimmer has been set to 3 Way Aux, and the Aux wiring is just a neutral (neutral has power), a traveler and ground wire. Exactly matches the Aux switch wiring diagrams.
The Dimmer replaced a standard on/off paddle switch, and the Aux switch replaced a basic dummy paddle switch.
I’ve tried every single thing I’ve read online, and nothing works.
It would probably be helpful to have pictures of both the switches and their wiring and a little diagram of how you think they are wired. I guess the one thing I’d check is to see if the traveller is continuous by putting power on one end and testing on the other. Besides that, I think pictures will help.
I just figured it out. In the box where the Smart Dimmer is installed, there’s a double switch in the same box (for exhaust fan and heat lamp) and there was a single white/neutral wired buried in between that dual switch black wires and twisted together – could barely see it. That neutral wire exited the back of the box to the same location the red traveler wire to the Aux switch exited.
Anyway, removed the neutral/white twisted in with the black load/line wires for the “other” double switch, and connected it to the neutral/white wire bundle, and now the Aux switch is working.
