Blue 2-1 "Digital" button events not working with Hubitat

Hi,

I’m playing around with a Blue 2-1 Dimmer, at Firmware 2.15 and with the Hubitat driver from 10/14/23. I’d like to be able to simulate a button press from the hub, and have it behave just like a physical button press. From the device page, I can send the “push” command for button 1 (which should, to my knowledge, simulate a upper paddle tap) or a “hold” command for button 1 (which should, to my knowledge, simulate a lower paddle tap), but in both cases nothing happens. In the logs I see “digital Button 1 was pushed” or “digital Button 1 was held”, but the switch does not turn on or off. I can of course send the “on” and “off” commands, and those work as expected. But I have a custom Hubitat application that is subscribed to button press events, and I miss those when I send the “on”/“off” commands.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks,
Ryan

You’re a bit behind on the driver, but I don’t see any changes since then that should affect this, and it looks like the driver should indeed send this event from running the command.

If you look at the Device Events page for this device, you should definitely see the “push” command listed there (assuming you ran it), but that should also result in a “pushed” event shortly after. Both (somewhat contrary to the name of this page) will be listed in this table. I’d start by verifying that this event is there, then investigate your custom app subscription next if you don’t see any problems there.
