Blue Fan Canopy + 2-1 Switch not Honoring DefaultLevel

I am having a strange behavior with my blue fan canopy module. Currently it is bound to a 2-1 switch using Z2M.

For some reason, when I press the up paddle on the blue switch, the fan canopy will come to full brightness before dropping to the minimum. This happens about 1s after power is applied and is reflected in the home assistant interface showing a brightness of 0%.

I’ve had some lights behave poorly when ‘last brightness’ was selected so I have the fan canopy’s DefaultLevelRemote 1 parameter set to 242 and both the local and remote DefaultLevels of the blue switch set to 254. I’m not sure which is the controlling one here, but neither seems to be working.

Anyone else experience something similar or have recommendations for mediation?

If you are using the switch for dimming, set the default level on the dimmer if you always want it to come on at a specific brightness, and leave the canopy at 255.

You still want to set your minimum and maximum brightness levels on the canopy module, but the let switch do all the deciding on where in that range it wants it set to.

I adjusted it as you suggested and didn’t see any improvements to behavior.

I did realize that the quick-start setting was enabled and was responsible for the initial flash. I’ve disabled that and tried to reset the DefaultLevelRemote back to 254 and will see if it holds this time.
