Blue Series 2-1 dimmer slowly ramping brightness up/down on its own (no paddle inpu

One of my Blue Series 2-1 dimmers (VZM31-SN) take a look at the video, when I hit the down button to turn off, it does this weird clicking sound, while its making the sound the colors rotate

Video attached.

Setup: single-pole wiring, Home Assistant with ZHA. Part of a larger Inovelli rollout; only this location shows the behavior.
What causes this, and where should I start troubleshooting?

Video of behavior

Did you post the right video? Your post describes an issue that occurs when the switch isn’t touched, but the video shows behavior occurring after paddle presses.

In any event, in the video, it almost looks as if the switch is rebooting. It’s a little tough to tell because the colors don’t show up that well. You would not normally see a LED bar color change after a paddle press. When the switch reboots, as it is powering up the LED bar will display cyan, yellow and then the default color.

If that is a reboot that is occurring, I would double check your wiring. Check for both loose connections and make sure the conductors are landed on the proper terminals.

I typed it up wrong, let me fix the post. The problem is in the video, I just updated the post

here are the HA settings

Thanks. As I posted above, the switch may be rebooting. Double-check for loose connections and for proper wiring.

Did you test to determine which was the line and which was the load before installation?

Neutral or non-neutral?

What is the load?

My remodler installed it, when its on dimmer mode it works fine soon as I switch it to on/off it does this. I believe the netural is set up. I will go ask

you know the bottom left where you can pull that piece out to reset it, I think its missing. I will go check now

Fixed , we switched the line and load and it stopped clicking.
