I’m wondering if there are options to reduce the diffusing of the leds on blue series switches and make each led more distinct. I have a want to use individual leds for some notifications with a different color than the normal color but because of all the diffusion it just does not look great having the two color bleed into each other.
This was actually discussed several years ago, but I think it fell off the radar. Good to bring it up again.
Take a look at the bottom of Eric’s post:
I was just wondering about this; my goal was to display randomly colored blinky lights ala old-timey sci-fi. The diffused lights work great with the solid color gradient effects, but not so well with discrete LED colors. In addition to separate diffusers, a possible cheap solution could take advantage of the clear-tape-on-frosted-glass effect.
Yeah, when I have time I’m going to get an extra switch cover to get an extra diffuser and see what I get if I remove the ridges on the bottom of the diffuser. And/or shorten the depth of the diffuser.
I was hoping someone else had already experimented and maybe had a 3D print option or something.
