Blue Series Dimmer (VZM31-SN) with 3-way momentary dumb switch

Is it possible to wire this up so that this basic functionality works without any integrations or automations?

  • Dimmer works normally. Turn light on/off and dim
  • Dumb 3-way or 2-way switch on the other end that is normally in one position. When pressed, it momentarily closes, but opens again when released. When pressed I’d like the dimmer to toggle the light on or off.

I’ll have home assistant programming on top of that, but I’d like the basic functionality to work if my server or network is down.

It has to be a 3-way switch.

I’m not exactly sure what you are describing, but it sounds like you have some sort of momentary switch. You need a normal 3-way switch.

Properly wired with the proper switch, that is the expected behavior.

Check the wiring diagrams on https://help.inovelli.com. Since you are not configured with a hub, set the Inovelli as a 3-way using the quick tap sequence.
