Blue Series - Firmware Functionality Request - Reset LED Effect, Color, Brightness to default on switch press

For the Blue Series, I’d love to see a firmware enhancement that would reset Effect, Color, Brightness to their default values when either the up or down paddle on the switch is pressed.

The use case is that I have two lamps controlled by a single Blue Series Switch. The switch actually just controls some Hue bulbs. Turning the switch on turns both bulbs on. Turning the switch off turns both bulbs off. Works great.

I have one of the two lamps automatically come on at sunset while the other one remains off. As part of the automation to turn the single lamp on, I have an action that also sets the LED on the switch to appear as if it is ON. (I can’t actually turn the switch on since then both lamps would come on and I only want one to come on).

Then when I want to turn the single lamp off, I just go over to the switch and turn it off. I have an automation that resets the LED back to default values.

But this isn’t super efficient since if there is any type of delay in home assistant processing the commands or a hiccup in the Zigbee network, the LED change can be delayed. And if Home Assistant is down for whatever reason, the LED will stay lit even if the switch is off.

It would be great if there were a way within the firmware that would allow you to set the switch so it clears any LED parameters when either button ton the switch is pressed.

Thanks!
Scott

Not an answer to the request, but as a suggestion: could you change the automation that turns the single light on to instead turn on the group, then have it turn off the single light?

I think I understand what you’re suggesting. I can give that a shot, but I’d assume I’d see the second light flash briefly as it gets turned on and then back off. It is worth trying
