Blue series switching - grey in home assistant

I have a blue series smart dimmer

It’s working for a day or so then grey out on home assistant. The switch itself is still powered on and the LED responds when turn off and on.

How many other Zigbee devices do you have on your network? Are you sure it is receiving a good signal from your coordinator?

It has a fanatic signal it blinks green when I do signal check

I also have zigbee and other switches through out the house

Not sure then. I’d start by pulling the air gap switch to power cycle it, and hopefully it will reconnect.

If it happens again, or it doesn’t reconnect, then I’d probably remove it from the network and do a full reset on the switch (hold up on the paddle and config buttons for 20 seconds) and then try to readd it.

I’m sure there are less heavy handed options than just nuking it and starting over, but that’s what I’d do :grin:

Then, if it happens yet again, contact their customer service directly and follow any additional trouble shooting steps, and possibly see about getting a replacement if needed.

Thanks for this , I did nuke it re ads and it works for awhile then th cycle repeats its self.

I forgot to add it is in smart switch mode as the recessed lights are also zigbee

Just re added and it’s working , but the other switches I have is also doing the same thing. It grey out in HA but it’s fine manually turning off and on

What coordinator are you using? Have you ever thought of moving to Z2M instead of using ZHA?

Not against it it was just more involved I like the easy plug and Play of zha

Well, if I am understanding you correctly, and reconnecting the switch with the issue back to the network then kicked others off, it sounds like it might be some sort of network issue, not necessarily a switch issue.

Not sure what coordinator you are using, how many devices you have, or the layout of your network, I would probably still suggest trying to get Z2M up and running.

For thread have ZBT-2 I currently don’t have anything on it but willn th me future

I could always switch the ZBT-2, over to zigbee also and slowly move things over , I have a lot of zigbee devices …lol

I’d try to get a Z2M network set up using the ZBT-2, as you can always reconfigure the Sonoff later afterwards to then allow the ZBT-2 to be used for Thread (or you can just reflash the Sonoff for Thread use).

This way you aren’t just trashing the existing setup from the get go, and you can always go back if needed.

EDIT: Basically, do what you posted while I was replying telling you to do the same thing… :grin:

Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_v2 is ZBDongle-E? with the EFR32MG21? or the newer Dongle Plus with EFR32MG24?

The ZBDongle-E only supports 32 direct connections from coordinator, so if the network isn’t meshing properly, or you don’t have enough “routers” and everything is trying to connect back to the coordinator, there might be issues with a lot of devices.

I currently have 59 zigbee devices

This is mainly third reality and xsky color bulbs or LED recessed lights. hand full of zigbee inovelli zigbee switches, which I just ordered around 30 of them to out in the entire 2 story house with a basement.

4 aqara bulbs

17 sofoff sensors either motion / buttons , etc.. all battery operated

20 recessed lights - zigbee - xsky

9 third reality color bulbs

3 gledopto - 1 bulb , 2 zigbee LED controllers

Larger amount of router based devices.
