I have a blue series 2-1 where multi tap does not seem to be working. Regardless of what I do, Hubitat never seems to receive push/hold/config multi taps. I double checked the delay and it’s not set to 0. I even tried factory resetting the switch. So at this point I am kind of at a loss. Firmware is 2.15.
I have dozens of other switches that work just fine, it just seems to be just this one. Single click off/on does work.
Are those “dozens of other switches” also Blues, or just this one? If you have others, have you done a 1:1 comparison of parameters to confirm setup parity? Are the other Blues also all on 2.15,or are they on newer firmware?
Have you double-checked your button-rule setups against Inovelli’s button-mapping table to verify the correct button ID for mapping?
I have holds, multi-taps, and custom config-button actions programmed in Hubitat for many of my Blue switches, and it all works very well.
I have not. I’m pretty sure my button mappings are correct as they’re consistent with the Red dimmers (which I have many). I’m attempting to use up Tap Up x2 and Tap Down x2 as Buttons 2 pushed and held respectively. But neither one is registering.
For additional details, I’m using a VZM35-SN (Blue Fan Switch) with Hubitat. Yes, I know this thread is for the VZM31, but I was hoping they’re similar enough that the solution would be similar. I’m not using any of this switch’s ability to set multi-taps as a percentage of fan speed. I have that parameter set to disabled. And I can’t find any other multi-tap related feature that might be interfering with multi-tap.
That should be the right mapping… I don’t any fan switches, so I can’t speak to any possible differences first-hand.
Have you experimented with programming the Blue’s button press delay parameter to be shorter or longer? That may be a long shot, but not sure what else to suggest.
Have you checked P53 and P54, 2x Up and Down for Max and Min Brightness. Not sure if it’s necessary, but try disabling if enabled. My Blue Fans are not on Hubitat so I can’t test atm.
I can’t tell the current value, so I’ll set them both to 0 tonight and test. Thanks for the tip. If its any indication when I was testing last night, double taps up and down were doing absolutely nothing. They didn’t turn on the fan, but they didn’t register as button presses in Hubitat either.
I got it working. I tried all the things above to no avail. But then I used the “Configure” command in the Hubitat driver and selected “all”. I’m not sure which parameter(s) that corrected, but its working now. Thanks for the support and assistance!
