Blue Switches Missing Child Devices or LED Color?

On all my Reds and Blacks, 2nd Gen, I can create a child device to be used for changing the LED color when the switch is on via Hubitat. I don’t have this option with my new Blue 2-1 Switch. How can I use a rule to change the LED color on the paddle?

For On and Off, the color and brightness of the 2-1’s led notification bar is can be set via its own device parameters - no need to involve Rule Machine.

If you are seeking to change the notification bar LEDs for event notifications, here’s an article that can help get you started

The “Mini-Dashboard” app it mentions is still available for Hubitat; however, it is no longer being actively supported by its original community developer, so I can’t comment how well its working these days.

I’ve since moved all of my notification-LED setups to Rule Machine, and the basics of that is mentioned in that article.

I know how to use notifications. What I was hoping to do is this. The room is full of RGB LED Bulbs that I change via Hubitat. I’d would be a bonus if the LED color of the switch could change to match the color of the bulbs. So normally I use White for the Dimmer led. But if I change the Bulbs in the room to blue it would be cool if the Switch could change to blue. I can do that with a notification but then that doesn’t accurate depict the percent level of the switch.

Is this possible?

I don’t see why not. Via Rule Machine you can set either individual LEDs in the bar (1-7 via the “ledEffectOne” custom action) or set all of them via the “ledEffectAll” action – you can set the LED effect, color, level, and duration.

Ok I’ll play around with it

OK so I just realized why I wasn’t trying to go this route. I’m using random colors when I set the mood. This is in a home theater room so we like the room to randomly change to a color. I’m not sure how I can make sure the colors match if I’m doing it via 2 commands, one to the bulbs and 1 to the LED on the switch. Might have to ask this over at the Hubitat forum. The child devices were nice because they could be treated like another bulb and grouped together.
