Blue turns light ON/OFF as desigbed. 'up held' turns the light ON as well, it should just trigger an automation

I desire a single tap up or down to turn the lights on/off.

For the ‘Up Held’ action for Home Assistant automation, I want the switch to control LED lights.

Currently ‘Up Held’ does both - turns on the light and LEDs. ‘Down Help’ works correctly bu turning off the LEDs only, not both.

I have reset the switch, using output mode = ON/OFF. Cannot figure it out.

Any tips or suggestions that might help?

Thanks!

I put a Blue 2-1 in the on/off mode to test. Both the up and down held work properly. i.e The up held does not turn on the light when it is off.

This particular switch is on an older firmware, so it’s always possible something got bonked if we’re on different versions. If I get some time I can try a newer firmware one to see if that makes a difference.

More likely, there is something going on in HA. The switch I tested is on ST, so that differs as well.

If you post which Zigbee integration you’re using, hopefully someone with the same can test as well.

Hello Bry, thank you for the input and some direction.

The Blue switch is running FW version 2.18 and Zigbee2MQTT is version 2.4.0-1.

I will test with the configuration button and some variation.

Other feedback welcome. Thanks!

I repeated the same behavior in a different room with the same physical configuration and experienced the same results. Looks like we found a bug.

Yep. I just tested a dimmer on 2.18 and holding the up paddle while the load is off turns the load on. It didn’t do it with an older firmware, so I’m guessing a firmware revision introduced that bug.

@EricM_Inovelli 2-1 dimmer, on/off mode. Press and hold on the up paddle should not turn the load on. Works as expected w/2.14. Improperly turns the load on w/2.18. (It’s in GitHub)

Thanks @Bry & @wardwolfram33 , I just saw the issue entry and will talk to the engineer about it.

Think I encountered this over the weekend, FYI!
