Line and Load in the first box or Line and Load in the last box?
Four switches total. Every box has two blacks, and 2 whites. First and last box both have 1 red, the middle two have two reds.
I have put all the blacks in wire nuts, and connected the whites and reds to the blue and auxes.
I’m guessing you’re trying to answer my question about which box the load is in. The short answer is if the line and load are in the same box, then the Inovelli must stay in the first position. If the line and load are separate in the first and last box, then you can move the position of the Inovelli . . . in this case it does not need to be in the first box.
I’m guessing you have Romex? It sounds as if you are saying the line box and the last box have a 2-wire (black, white and ground) and a 3-wire (black, white, red and ground) in each. If that is the case, then that is a line and load in separate boxes and you can move the Inovelli to whatever box you wish.
Here are two variants from the Inovelli wiring diagrams. If you want the Inovelli in one of the middle boxes, then you just have to adapt from these drawings. Unfortunately, the variants are only shown for a 3-way, but the concept for a 4-way or 5-way is the same. If you need help, post back.
