Elimination of 3 way switches

Howdy all, new member here. I am about to start a big addition and am going to be deciding between RadioRa3 and Inovelli. I work for a mid sized AV company and can purchase the RA via a distributor and would progema myself.

My biggest issue with Ino is that there don’t seem to be any “Pico” type controllers, I am looking to eliminate all 3 way wiring.

What are my options with Ino for battery powered decora remote switches?

I’ll be implementing a Home Assistant system as theain brain.

Thanks!

I don’t believe Inovelli has a battery-powered decora-style remote that matches their switches, but maybe someone on here knows about the roadmap and/or can share additional knowledge.

It sounds like you’re wanting the functionality of a multi-way switch without dealing with the wiring? If there’s not a matching remote, why not go with an aux switch and wire for multi-way configs in the wall?

I’m using the Zooz Zen34 for this purpose.

Why in the world would you be planning on using battery devices in a new house?

Power another device without a load connection and use it.

I presume it’s to save the money on the copper wire needed for the 3-ways. But I agree, I would spend the extra and do it hardwired.

The cost to run the wire far exceeds the cost of a battery unit like a PICO. This is one of the reasons that Lutron is so dominant, this essentially eliminates 3 and 4 way switch wiring which saves real money.

I was looking at these, seems like a decent option.

Building codes typically dictate where switches MUST be. So more than likely, switches are going where they’re required, often requiring multi-ways, whether they’re wanted or not.

I agree. A wired connection is far superior to a wireless one.
