Fan/switch question

Im looking at the Fittes exhaust fan cover which recommends the Panasonic WhisperCeiling which is apparently DC (I’m slightly confused, as it must have its own converter since homes are AC)? The fan module it AC only.

I’m wanting to be in single click light / double click fan (and sensor driven) territory. I’ve used the white dimmers in smart light mode only so far.

Do I want the dimmer, on/off, or fan here? I’d love a humidity sensor…

You want the On/Off with the latest firmware, since your switch has a DC motor. It has a humidity sensor.

You’ll need a neutral in the switch box.

According to the documentation, the WhisperCeiling fans are equipped with built-in sensors for motion and humidity detection. The On/Off switch is going to make and break power to the fan. It seems to me that you’ll generally want the fan switch on so that the motion and humidity sensors in the fan function properly. So if you rely on those, you won’t be using the switch much.

Insofar as using the switch to turn the fan and light on and off, since a single switch controls power to both the fan and light, you’d have to use a smart relay at the fan to control one of those through automation. But it seems that this will conflict with the built-in motion and humidity functions.
