Fan Switch Weirdness (Turning on at midnightish?)

I have a Blue series fan switch running a light fixture that has both the light and fan controlled on the same switch

I actually never use the fan, I really don’t see any point for a fan to be there personally, but removing it would be a pain.

However the light is important, so I put a fan switch there because I was worried that a regular dimmer switch could have an issue if the fan was turned on by someone. I leave the light pull-string on, and use the fan switch to control the light.

The weirdness is that if I use the switch during the day, and then turn it off, every single time I wake up to see the light turned on! WTH? In home assistant all I see for history is that it was seen as turned on at like 11:57. But there is no activity log, I don’t have any automation that would trigger that. The time is always within a few mins of midnight. Very strange.

Maybe I would be better off disabling the fan or removing it, but that would involve digging around and swimming in an attic of blown-in insulation, so not super great fun.

By chance, do you have a voice assistant like Alexa? Alexa hunches are notorious for unexplained automations.

Nope, just Home Assistant, which is also the only thing connected to zigbee, and there is nothing in the logs to indicate there is a command coming from there.

Is anything bound to it that might inadvertently be sending it a command (bypassing Home Assistant)?

Nothing bound to it

I wonder maybe there is some zigbee debug log to view?
