Product: VTM31-SN
I’ve been using the white series dimmers for some time now on Home Assistant. After switching to the matter.js implementation of the matter server (beta) I noticed many entities are no longer supported, such as the LED effects.
Is this because of this matter server switch, meaning I would have to revert back in order to get these features back? And is there a timeline for when those features would make its way to the matter.js version?
I’ve been running a bunch of VTM31-SNs against the HA beta Matter server for months with no issues- all the new 1.1.2+ config clusters and values are there and work great. You might need to just have HA re-interview the offending switches and/or factory-reset them if that doesn’t work to clear out stale/broken entity state, especially if they’ve recently had 1.1.1->1.1.5 firmware updates.
PS- the new Matter server is so much better IME, especially the Thread network graph. You still have to manually map Matter node numbers to HA devices, but the new server at least merges all the Matter goodies atop the Thread layer (unlike the Thread-only bits in the OTBR web UI) and provides a ton more info on the state of the overall mesh.
I’m wondering if im having the same issue. I setup a thread network for the first time and opted to start with matter.js out of the box since i have heard how much better it is(zero issues for me so far!). I recently picked up a bunch of Inovelli white dimmers and on/off switches to fill out my network but Im not able to see any of the LED intensity settings on the dimmers but i can see them on the on/off switches. in general the dimmer seems to have way less settings in Home Assistant. Everything is on the latest firmware.
