Hubitat to Homekit, expose led lights for Homekit Automations

Just got my VZW32-SN. First thoughts on the packaging, build and instructions were of high quality. Really worth the wait to finally get these devices.
**
The Setup:**
I have two in a 3way setup, and using z-wave associations with Hubitat. The lights work on/off and dimming as expected no issues.

The Question

I like to do my home automations natively in homekit and not in other smart hub apps.

Can you expose the LED Light Bar to Homekit as a light? I would like to do more automation on this in Homekit?

I looked at this guide, but it goes into depth using Hubistat and I would prefer a simple exposure to Homekit.

thanks

Not with the red or blue series. The led light bar is only able to be controlled via notifications and adjusting parameters.

On white series switches (there is no mmwave white series currently), it uses thread and Matter and exposes the light bar as a light bulb. If you search the forum, you’ll actually find a lot of people who are frustrated with that experience - specifically with how Apple displays it in Homekit since it’s treated just as another light.

This would work fine, you just treat the led like a light and use it for actions. Seems like an opportunity for the homekit bridge in hubitat to mirror the led bar as a light in homekit. Still seems possible.

Anything is possible, but someone would have to implement it and as far as I know, it doesn’t exist today.

I suspect an app could be built to do this. I suspect that it might be simple enough to be started with the help of AI, and then maybe tweaked with support from the community.

Got it working using these steps.

  1. In Hubitat setup a virtual RGBW Light
  2. In Hubitat share switch to homekit using homebridge
  3. Automations from Homekit can now adjust light hue and state (on/off) on virtual switch
  4. Hubitat Rule maps light values from homekit switch (hue, state) to the light bar on the Inovelli Switch
    1. rule sets the ledEffectAll(X,LED_HUE,LED_STATE,X) on the Inovelli Switch
