Hue Bulbs Slow Transition Turning On/Off

Hey all, I’m trying to square away one of the last configuration-related things with my Blue Switch and Hue Bulbs related to speed at which the bulbs turn on.

First, in terms of hardware, in my basement I have a Blue 2-in-1 dimmer wired to 6 pot lights with Philipps Hue BR30 bulbs in them. This particular wiring configuration is a 2-1, neutral setup, with the switch being controlled in Home Assistant using Z2MQTT and configured as a “single pole” setup and set to “smart bulb” mode. I’ve got the bulbs also visible in Z2MQTT and bound to the switch.

When I turn on the switch from either the wall or via Home Assistant, the lights ramp as they turn on. Same for when I turn the switch off, either at the wall or via Home Assistant. However, I read that the lights themselves have a “transition” parameter which you can also control. I set that to 0, and sure enough, when I turn off an individual light in Z2Mqtt, it turns on and off immediately. See here for a video that shows me turning the lights on and off using the switch, then using Home Assistant, and then using Z2M.

I’ve stepped through the posts in the community and I believe I’ve tried most things. Here are screenshots of everything relevant. Would appreciate any help anyone could provide. I feel like this has gotta be something simple, I just can’t figure out what.

Z2M Config Code

Bumping this, anyone have any help they might be able to provide?

Received this response from the Inovelli team, so posting here for anyone that might encounter this issue in the future:

Hi Bill, I think I may know what is going on. When the switch turns on or off, it sends the on or off command to the group. The bulbs in the group will use whatever transition speed they are programmed to use.

If you set the transition speed in Z2M and turn the group on, it sends the command “on & move to level” with the transition speed (not just on or off). There is a configuration option for our switch to send that command when it turns the group on. It should then use the speeds in P1-8 when you turn the group on or off from the switch.

Best of luck, and thanks Inovelli Team (Eric) for your help!
