Innovelli White binding button to Google Home Automation action

**I just purchased the White Series 2 in 1 dimmer switch. I got the switch registered into Google Home and can turn my lights on\off\dim easily enough (I’m trying to whittle down the 70 or so Matter lights in my house by switching to Matter switches instead). Everything seems great, there are like 20 toggle options in Google Home that I can use to set various things. Changing any of them them does what the setting states. However I can’t seem to find a way to successfully bind actions to the buttons themselves.

On, Off, Enter/OK/Select are all listed in Google Home. When I physically press the buttons I can even see the button action if I’m looking at the button in Google Home (whatever action is performed blinks solid for a second or so). However, nothing happens if I try to bind turning on/off a smart bulb in my house to the action. Also, nothing happens if I try to bind the button as a “starter” action for a Google Home Automation. This 2nd option is ultimately what I’d like to do.**

**Right now the Innovelli White is wired up to 6 dumb lights, but I also have 2 other lights in the room that aren’t wired to the switch. For these lights I have smart bulbs connected in Google Home. I have automations that will turn on/off the Innovelli controlled lights AND the 2 other smart lights. The automation works great triggered from my phone or even from one of Ikea’s battery powered BILRESA smart switches. But binding the starter action to any of the Innovelli button and nothing happens.

Any help would be awesome, everything seemed so straight forward getting it setup, but I’m stumbling on the final step :(**
