Inovelli 2026: Q1 Update!

Inovelli 2026 – Q1 Update

Hey everyone,

As mentioned in our 2026 roadmap post, we will be sharing quarterly updates to give a high level view of what we have been working on, where things stand, and what is coming next.

This post is meant to complement the individual project threads by highlighting key progress across products, firmware, and platform work.

Expanding the Team

We are continuing to grow and recently added @Rylen_Inovelli to the team. He is currently training as a Smart Home Specialist and will be working closely with customers and support. Over time, he will be transitioning into a B2B sales role as we continue to expand that side of the business. He will be jumping into the community occasionally to help with updates and user support once he is trained up!

Product & Project Updates

European Switch (Project Europa β€’ Zigbee + Thread/Matter Smart Dimmer β€’ Blue & White Series)

We received our first working 3D printed sample and completed initial testing.

Overall, we are very happy with how it looks and feels. The current focus is on refining the structural design for the installation method. Once those updates are complete, we will move into tooling.

After tooling, the next step will be beta testing. We’re excited to see what everyone thinks!

New Product Line

We have been working on a larger project with a major B2B home builder that will also be brought to our B2C lineup.

We cannot share too much detail yet, but this will be a full line of products consisting of seven switches, both smart and standard. The focus is on a high end, premium look and feel.

We expect to receive 3D samples within the next couple of weeks and are currently targeting a late Q3 launch.

As we are able to share more, we will keep you updated.

Button Controller (Blue Series / Red Series)

The Button Controller is still being worked on, but we want to be transparent about where things stand.

The main challenge right now is light diffusion behind the etched buttons. The current design requires a complex diffuser solution, and we are working with the manufacturer to determine if it can be produced reliably.

If this approach does not meet our standards, we will look at simplifying the design.

We expect to have a clearer direction and more concrete updates in Q2.

Red Series On/Off Switch (Z-Wave On/Off Switch | Project Pulsar)

The Red Series On/Off switch is now in mass production.

We are targeting a release in late April. There will not be a pre-order period for this device.

Platform & Ecosystem Work

We continue to make progress expanding and improving our integrations across SmartThings, Homey, Google, and other platforms.

Our focus remains on delivering a more consistent experience, improving OTA update support, and making advanced features more accessible regardless of ecosystem.

We have also made strong progress within the Homey ecosystem. Previous generation products such as the LZW41 and LZW42 are now supported, and most features across Red, White, and Blue Series devices are now available.

Across all platforms, we are continuing to focus on device stability, dimming performance, and features driven by community feedback.

Internal Improvements

We have continued work on internal systems, including our ERP project.

While not something that is directly visible, this work is important for improving how we manage product data, firmware, and support. The goal is to provide more consistent communication and better overall support as we continue to grow.

Looking Ahead to Q2

Our focus heading into Q2 includes:

  • Continued firmware and stability improvements across all product lines

  • Advancing the Button Controller toward a final design decision

  • Moving the European switch into tooling

  • Sharing more details on the new product line as they become available

  • Continuing to expand platform integrations and support

We Want Your Input

As always, your feedback plays a big role in shaping what we do next.

If you have thoughts on what is working, what needs improvement, or what you would like to see from us this year, let us know.

Thanks again for being part of the Inovelli community.

What about firmware/fixes for the White Series Canopy Module? I good number of us have report issues where the fan loses connection to Apple Home (sometimes while the fan is still running), and we’ll have to climb up and physically hard reset the fan, because the breaker combination doesnt hard reset it (somtimes we have to manually stop the fan by hand, because we need the power running to hard reset it at the module).

Hi @nammers,

Silicon Labs recently made some significant changes to the development environment, particularly with Matter 1.5. Because of this, our team has needed to spend time getting up to speed with the new framework before continuing development.

Right now, we are targeting mid-May to have development of the VTM36 firmware completed. That firmware should address a number of the issues that have been reported, including stability improvements.

In the meantime, I also wanted to share that you can factory reset the canopy module by cutting power, so you should not need to physically access it in the ceiling. Here are the steps:

  • Start by cutting power to the canopy module. This can be done either at the circuit breaker or by pulling the air gap on your Inovelli switch if it is connected to the module.

  • Turn the power back on for 2 seconds, then turn it off again for 2 seconds.

  • Repeat this on and off pattern six times, making sure the final state is On so the module has power.

  • To confirm the reset was successful, the fan’s light should flash a few times and then remain on.

I know that does not completely eliminate the inconvenience, but it should help avoid needing to manually access the module.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your patience on this!

Hi @Kaleb_Inovelli ,

Is there somewhere that lists the availability of each of the firmware updates above, by channel (dev/beta/prod) and by platform? (and what configuration is needed to access those channels?). E.g. my default ZHA configuration offers 3.04 for the Blue 2-1 devices but not 3.07.

Also I think there are some HA PRs pending for the ZHA quirks for the mmWave devices. Any idea what version those are coming out in?

Thanks!
