Inovelli White LED Dimming not working

I’ve just installed the inovelli white dimmer. It’s connected to my overhead LED lights in my master bedroom. I’ve switched the mode from on/off to dimmer mode and see the orange confirmation. However I’m still not able to lower the dimness level. The lights are only able to go on/off even though the switch led indicator seems to be going up and down. These are brand new led lights and should be able to be dimmed.

Can someone please advise how to get this working properly?

What is the make and model of the lights? Can you provide a link?

intertek led recessed luminaire model number 92337

If they are these, it appears that they just have 2 brightness levels (and those would not be controllable by any smart switch – brightness can only be set via hard switch on the fixture itself).

I wasn’t able to find that exact model’s product literature. Intertek makes a lot of products that get rebranded. If you can post a link to the exact product, that would be helpful. The one that @hydro311 posted is a Commercial Electric, but the model number matches.

If they aren’t the ones that @hydro311 posted and they are fully dimmable:

Did you change to the dimmer mode? I don’t have any Whites, but I’m guessing the default is the on/off mode.

Dimmer Mode

To put your White Series Dimmer Switch in Dimmer Mode, hold down on the bottom part of the paddle (off) while simultaneously tapping the configuration button three (3) times (do not let go of the paddle when finished tapping the config button). Wait for the LED Bar to flash solid orange (and then let go of the paddle) indicating the switch has changed to a Dimmer switch.

Once you’re sure it’s in the Dimmer mode, you can try switching from leading to trailing edge, or vice versa.

Enable Leading Edge Mode

To put your switch into Leading Edge Mode (for dimming) on your White Series Dimmer Switch, hold down on the top part of the paddle (on) while simultaneously tapping the configuration button thirteen (13) times (do not let go of the paddle when finished tapping the config button). Wait for the LED Bar to flash solid pink (and then let go of the paddle) indicating the switch has enabled Leading Edge Mode. Please note switching between Leading Edge & Trailing Edge Mode is only available on firmware version 2.15 and above.

Enable Trailing Edge Mode

To put your switch into Trailing Edge Mode (for dimming) on your White Series Dimmer Switch, hold down on the bottom part of the paddle (off) while simultaneously tapping the configuration button thirteen (13) times (do not let go of the paddle when finished tapping the config button). Wait for the LED Bar to flash solid indigo (and then let go of the paddle) indicating the switch has enabled Trailing Edge Mode. Please note switching between Leading Edge & Trailing Edge Mode is only available on firmware version 2.15 and above.

Thanks for both of the responses. The link that @hydro311 provided appears to be the correct lights. I’m a little confused what you mean that the brightness can only be set via the hard switch. The hardware does have a switch that can control the maximum lumens however the lights themselves are supposed to be dimmable with a compatible dimmer. Specifications show that LED is dimmable here:

I did change the switch to dimmer mode however I am still unable to change the brightness of the lights. Am I missing a step? I’m still unclear why this isn’t working properly.

Ah, sure enough then… The dimming should work. I must’ve been blind to any mention of dimming in HD’s product description, and I guess I just glommed onto the fact that it offered the 2 Lumen settings.

I’d double-check all the wiring next… Are you using a neutral?

Yup this a new construction and brand new electrical including neutral wires. I’ll check with my electrician to see if he has any ideas. I’ll report back if I’m able to get it working.
