Hi! I’m in Canada using an Inovelli white series (VTM31) with Home Assistant (using an Apple TV 4K with Ethernet as the border router)
I wanted to move from Hue dimmer switches to something hardwired in, and heard great things about Inovelli, and while they look nice (love the LED bar), if I’m to be honest I’m sort of disappointed with the functionality
Namely, if I single-press the top or bottom paddle, if I press too quickly it’ll still make the “click” noise/actuation, but won’t actually do anything. I have to actually press it with a bit of intention/force to get it to trigger. My girlfriend has basically never got it on her first try which isn’t exactly selling her on the smart home thing and not super excited at the prospect of guests wondering why the light isn’t working
This kinda sucks because I can’t help but feel even beyond a bunch of cool smart stuff, “having the switches work” is like functionality 101, especially for such an expensive switch. I installed the 1.1.6r1 firmware through Home Assistant test-net (not r2 since it’s not available there) and it seems a little better but I can still easily cause it not to work, and it still doesn’t work for my girlfriend
(I bought two of them and they both exhibit this behavior so I don’t think it’s bad hardware)
Worse, in Canada, they’re only sold through one place (Aartech) which says if they’ve been used you can’t return them so I’m kinda just stuck with these
