ANY device that can send a scene command can control the smart relay. I don’t use Matter, so I can’t specifically speak for that line. With Blues or Reds, Auxs will send scene commands. You’ll have to test to see if your Whites will. According to Inovelli’s documentation, the ability to send scene commands depends upon your hub. Presumably, you know whether or not your devices will send those commands.
I figured out how to get it done. I used a Shelly 1 GEN 4 relay which will handle 16 amps and put it between the switch circuit and the light circuit.
I programed the relay to be in the on state when it powers up so no matter what happens a power outage, circuit breaker turn off and back on. The relay in always in the on position. I do not have to control it or send a scene command it is just a relay.
I had to have an electrician help me install it. He ended up using and unused wire in the switch box to get a neutral for the white series. Ended up have to fish a wire to the last switch on the circuit but it was easy to get fished. All the switches work turning lights on and off and I am able to turn the lights on and off in Apple Homekit.
It took us a long time to figure out how to wire it. I am going spend more money that I thought. Have not got the bill yet. The electrician and I just had to make it work. We both ended up getting an education.
