Jasco 46199 for Blue 2-1 (VZM31) or wait for AUX01 to be back in stock?

Hi all,

I’m looking for an Aux switch for my Blue 2-1 (VZM31). I need dimming capabilities ideally at both ends, but at the very least at the “traveler’s box”, where there is no neutral.

I noticed that the Inovelli AUX01 should be back in stock soon. Living in Canada, it may take some time for Aartech to get them as well (shipping prices to Canada from Inovelli’s website are not appealing!).

The Jasco 46199 is in stock at Aartech and I was wondering if there would be any benefits (from a functionality and compatibility point of views) in waiting for the AUX01 compared to the Jasco 46199 ? Is the Jasco reliable with Inovelli 2-1 switch ? The AUX01 has a favorites button, which is nice. Other than that, I believe that all the other functionalities (on/off, dimming, double/triple tap) should stay the same ? My understanding from an Aux switch is that the Inovelli switch will “listen” to the traveler wire and perform actions based on what the Aux “tells” it to do. Am I understanding this correctly ?

Thanks !

Neo.

Your understanding is correct. The Inovelli Aux will just add the config button.

Thank you Rohan.

I’ve read the documentation of the VZM31 and it mentions that Jasco Aux is supported but there are no specific model(s) number(s) provided in the documentation. Is the Jasco 46199 properly supported on the VZM31 and free of any known issue ?

I would very much prefer to give my money to Inovelli instead of Jasco, and I’m waiting to hear back from Aartech to know if they have an ETA on the AUX01. But if it takes too much time, I may have to go with Jasco instead.

I believe all of the Jasco Aux switches are wired identically and are fully compatible.
