Light flashes on briefly before fading on

I have a canopy module in a ceiling fan and a dimmer switch. Both have neutral and the canopy module is hard wired. (Nothing is connected to the load of the switch.) They are connected to Home Assistant via Zigbee, but “bound” so the switch can control the canopy independent of home assistant.

Sometimes, when I press the switch to turn on the light, the light will flash on for a fraction of a second, then off, then fade on normally. This isn’t strictly a problem, but the brief flash is disconcerting.

I’ve checked the home assistant logs and there are no automations triggered when this happens, only the binding.

Has anyone else seen this? Do I have some parameter set wrong for my configuration? Any help appreciated!

Do you have quick start mode enabled? Quick start mode bumps the power to a specified amount for a short period of time on startup to help lights that need a lot of power to light up but can then dim lower.

I’m not sure. It looks like Quick Start Level is 254 and Quick Start Time is 0, but the parameters page for the canopy module doesn’t have any information at all on what those parameters mean or do. I also checked the dimmer switch and it appears not to be defined at all there.

Do you know if there’s any information on what values have what effects for that parameter, so I can figure out what I should set them to?
