Love my Inovelli switches, I’ve had a couple of Blues since launch and I recently swapped out a couple more switches for Blues (replacing Aqara switches)
I’ve come across something that I could do with my Aqara switches, that I haven’t figured out how to do on my Inovellis yet.
I’d like the single button push to be a smart bulb command to control my smart bulbs in smart bulb mode, however when doing a secondary click, I’d like to have an automation in Home Assistant that can turn on/off the internal relay of the switch. While I can see the individual single, double, triple clicks, I don’t see an option to turn off/on the relay on the switch. Is this an option?
Usage case for this is in my TV room, my smart bulbs are used 99% of the time, while the overheard light (mains wired/dumb light) is not. I’d like to control the smart lights for the 99% of the time and keep the mains light off, unless I need it on the rare occasion.
Yes, I could replace the main light with a smart light, but I’d rather not.

So what you really want is an automation to disable and enable local control. Disabling local control will prevent the wired load from being switched when the paddle is pressed.
I would create two automations, one to disable local control and the other to re-enable it. Since you have other automations tied to paddle presses, I would use the config button presses as triggers. A single press to disable and a 2x press to re-enable, for example.
ah, local control is the function I’m looking for, thank you, that will allow me to play!
It would be great if there was an additional option to turn the relay on/off independently without needing to set that parameter first, but I’ll work with what I have!
Dang, yeah. I was thinking you were just using multi-taps for the non-wired lights. In a lot of cases, the bound lights are either the load or there is no load, so you’re sort of a niche use.
I was just trying to achieve the same thing a few days ago, but was unable to get it working. Similar use-case - the master bedroom has overhead recessed lighting, which is very bright and somewhat harsh. Great for cleaning & other tasks, but 99% of the time we only use the bedside lamps which are smart bulbs. I’ve gotten used to double-tapping for the non-load scene control, but my wife and kids have not (and it’s been a couple years now… ). I also thought of replacing the recessed lighting, but that’s somewhat pricey for something that is used maybe once every month or two.
