Mixing Red and Blue?

Hi all! I’m a Hubitat user with a z-wave and zigbee mesh and I already have about a dozen Red Dimmers. I’m looking to add a few more switches and like the idea of mixing some of the Blue (zigbee) switches into the mix to strengthen my zigbee mesh.

My question is this. Would it be a problem to mix z-wave and zigbee switches within a single 2-gang or larger box? Anyone do this? Thanks in advance!

I’ve mixed Z-wave and matter/thread devices without problem. Thread uses the same underlying IEEE 802.15.4 transmission layer as Zigbee, so the result should be the same - i.e., no problem. I believe Z-wave / Zigbee also transmit on different frequencies which, again, means there should not be a problem (802.15.4 is a 2.4 GHz technology; I think Z-wave is in the 800- 900 MHz range).

ok, that’s good to hear. I was hoping it wouldn’t be a problem based on the frequency difference.

I also have mixed in 2 gang boxes, zero problems. I’m plenty happy with it. I’m using zwave light control and the zigbee fan controllers. Everything is great.
