Programming the switches: which is best method for me?

Ladies and Gentlemen: I am brand new to Inovelli; I normally use Lutron but for several reasons I am not using them this time. Inovelli looked really great, so I am giving it a go. Here is my question:

I understand that I can set up the functions in Inovelli devices in one of two ways: 1) at the switch with a series of button presses and waching the light for confirmation, or 2) using the Inovelli configuration screens in Hubitat; I have a C-8 non-pro.

THE QUESTION I HAVE: I am old, so likely will be gone in the near future. The house will be sold, and all my tech gear will go away. This means the Hubitat will as well. I want to set my Inovelli devices up so that they function as dimmers, or switches as the case may be, without the Hubitat present. I know that any of my automations will be gone; my concern is, someone presses the dimmer feeding the family room lights, I want them to dim and brighten like a dumb dimmer.

If I use my Hubitat Inovelli driver screens to set things up, say, for a switch to be a dimmer, and another to be just on off, will those functions remain if the Hubitat is removed? Or, should I program them manually?

I hope this issue and my explanation of it is clear. Any answers you folks provide, thanks in advance.

They should continue to function normally without the hub present. The only impediment would be if someone inadvertently does some button presses at the switch which would change a setting.

I figured it would be that way, but assuming can get one into trouble. Thanks very much.
