That’s right, in Europe, Amazon (whatever the country) is just a store like any other, and normally they handle the shipping to the country of purchase. For example, in Portugal, I usually buy from Amazon Spain. @Eric_Inovelli
Btw nice products, only problem is the 220v here in EU. I’m not sure if this is relevant to you, but I found Inovelli because of the Smart Fan & Light Canopy Module (white series).
It’s finally coming together! I was able to figure things out with Shopify and have confirmed everything on that end (to where they will be the ones collecting and remitting VAT for us). That’s a huge burden off our shoulders.
I’m just waiting for the fulfillment people to get back with me to integrate it into Shopify. We were supposed to meet earlier this week, but he came down with a cold.
I created this account as another Australian, hoping these switches might come available in our market. We’re so starved down here for options like this and I would absolutely buy a stack of them!
I’m very excited for those switches. One thing I can’t tell looking at the website - is the EU switch “physical”? What I mean is, does it click and actually move when pressed or does it work like a touch screen?
Quick update – Courtney and I had a call with the fulfillment company and they got us set up in their system. They apparently use a partner in the EU and are just waiting back on final costs. I’m going to follow up with him right now to see where he’s at with it as he said he’d have them this week.
Slow, painful process… but hopefully we can move forward!
Hey! Just signed up to post in this thread specifically!
I’m a software developer that moved from the US to the Netherlands 2 years ago and as I’ve been rebuilding my smarthome, one thing that I really missed was Inovelli switches, so I’m super excited to see this project coming along!
A couple of questions I have that maybe you can help with.
Will you sell a “no-neutral required” version? Many houses built before the 80s(?) tend to not use a neutral between the switch and the light. For “smart bulb” mode, this is no problem since you can leave it powered all of the time to run the switch. Maybe that should work fine for boxes with no neutral as well?
Is there a new product page somewhere? The link pinned in the first post seems dead. I couldn’t find a new PDP on your website. It certainly is flashy, but I find it quite hard to navigate and this is from someone who makes websites for a living and is familiar with your products!
Maybe the product page lists this, but what is the approximate price point that you’re shooting for? I think the Fibaro switches are comparable in terms of quality and some features (though they’re missing smart bulb mode).
Final question, have you looked into an official Homey integration? I used to run Hubitat back in the US, but about the time I moved, Homey announced their Homey Pro hub product and I’ve been really happy with it. I would say it’s similar to Hubitat but with a lot more visual polish. Good for those weirdos like me who want features and aesthetics - Luckily Homey also supports generic zigbee/zwave/matter devices and as long as you follow the spec when exposing featuers, their generic driver should pick up most of them. They also have a fairly robust developer community that can make apps as well and their in-house devs also maintain a few drivers for products that they like and use on a daily basis (Hue, Sonos, etc).
Super excited for these to launch and will be picking up a few of them once you all have figured out the logistics side of things.
The goal is to mimic the current North American switches which have no-neutral capability. It won’t be a separate SKU. See you the hardware details section of the first post.
This is the product page. The link at the bottom of the first post to another thread points back to this one.
Homemade capability for all switches is currently being researched. Reportedly the process is quite complex
Not sure if that has been determined. There is some pricing discussion in the threads above.
Pulling an extra neutral wire is not a lot of work. In the Netherlands all lamps have a neutral wire in the box above the lamp. You can extend it with a Wago and pull a new wire through the channel towards the switch. I would highly recommend doing so, because the neutral wire is not there for fun. It’s an essential wire to make your electricity safe. If there’s ever something wrong in your electrical circuit, the neutral wire helps with bringing the electricity safely back to the grid. Otherwise it will find other paths, such as pipes, etc. It also helps getting rid of the buzzing noise/coilwhine. Please just connect a neutral.
I did some more reading over the weekend and it does seem that pulling a neutral wire here in NL is not as difficult as I assumed it to be (new home owner in a foreign country sorry!). For circuits that do have access, I will probably pull a neutral.
Hi everyone, just came across this initiative today. Very cool! I’d also be happy to help beta test here in Switzerland.
As an additional bit of information about the market here: one of the European smart home manufacturers (myStrom) recently changed their Terms and Conditions, which removed a bunch of features from products customers had already purchased. Their smart switches aren’t comparable to Inovelli, but maybe some of their other products (smart plugs) could be something Inovelli could move in on in the future. The market is ready for a customer friendly company here Bezahlabos von Mystrom verärgern Kundschaft - Kassensturz Espresso - SRF
Any chance these will also be possible to buy from Norway? We tend to be forgotten and left out as we’re outside the EU.
I moved into a new house a year ago, and have started looking into making all light switches and dimmers smart. There are a few decent options for on/off switches available, notably Aqara, but the options for dimmers are severely limited. This switch looks like the perfect choice for me, so if they become available in Norway I’d probably by a bunch to change out basically every light switch in the house.
Another input here from the UK with no access to a neutral wire, and it is also prohibited to install one as it’s technically a modification to the apartment by the management agency. It would be good if a non-neutral configuration was possible, and also support Matter for integration with apple homekit or native homekit support.
